Good afternoon Bryan :

How are you doing? Everything is fine here. The day was perfect for a ride to Montebello!

Our advance party consisted of Allison and Bruce Brown, Gary Tripp, Luc Vaillancourt and me. The cleats on the docks are now clear of snow and ice so they are available as tiedowns.

While we were working, at least five aircraft landed on the ice, including Mike Prescott's Challenger. The pilots made comments on how great the preparations were!

The ice thickness is a minimum of 10 inches at the entrance of the marina (where the two fishing shacks are situated) and at least 8 inches in the landing area. The ice is so thick that we could not get through to the water with the 10-inch bit we had at our disposal.

The aircraft landing area is in good condition now for all kinds of planes. This will change as 5 to 10 centimeters of snow are expected on Thursday and a bit more on Friday morning.

So, conditions will be ideal for Challengers on skis but unsuitable for planes on wheels!

A few pictures were taken. When they get to you, you will be able to see how beautiful the day was and how much fun we had.

See you soon Bryan.

Claude
